In Memory of Layton John Cleaver

I'm asking all my lovely blogger friends for help in raising some funds for the Meningitis Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign.

If you could spread the word we would all be forever grateful.

As most of you know, recently we lost a precious child from our family to Meningitis.

Below is a Picture Of Layton John Cleaver with Dad David and Mam Kim

A note from Kim and David
Layton was always a happy lively character, always on the go. Every where he went and who ever he saw, he greeted them with a loud and clear "hiya" followed by such an infectious laugh. We lost our special little boy aged 16 months, on 27th October 2009, after a very short and unexpected fight to the horrific disease meningococcal septicaemia.Always in our hearts and thoughts baby dumpling. Gone but never forgotten. Love you always Mammy & Daddy XXX

Two exceptional talented artist have given their time to create Digi Stamps, Jim Harker made the Little Soldier Stamp and Mo Manning made the Out There Stamp.

All of the proceeds of these stamps will go to the Meningitis Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign.

You get both Digi Stamps for a single £4.00 donation.

Both Stamps have an Angel Policy and the terms of use are included as a word Document along with the stamps.
All proceeds will be going to Meningitis search 4 a vaccine campaign

Rememberance Day - The End of World War 1

World War 1 Finally ended.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918
Beyond the elation of the end of the War was the deep sadness of all the lives that were lost.
I think it is very apt that the symbol we use to commemorate this time and remember all those lost lives is the Poppy, growing wild in the fields that once held the battles, it's vibrant red and beauty to be worn on our left side over our hearts.
Lest we forget

In Flanders fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses, row on row,

That mark our place; and in the sky

The larks, still bravely singing, fly

Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,

Loved, and were loved, and now we lie

In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw

The torch; be yours to hold it high.

If ye break faith with us who die

We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)

Saturdays Child

Saturdays Child or should that be Penny Pigtails, I love this digi stamp by the talented Mo Manning, it just reminds me of my childhood so much, my Dad had an allotment garden away from our house garden where he would escape to, he used to grow all of our vegetables and also kept hens, Joe in the neighbouring allotment kept pigs, goats, geese and ducks and I would often pop round to help feeding, I have to say though I was terrified of the goats because they did exactly as the one in the image, often chewing my clothes and the occasional head butt too.

Attention to detail...

Ok so now I am minus 1 pair of jeans, I cut a strip from them to add as a ribbon, tied a knot then frayed the edges.

papers ; stamping up
Digi Stamp ; Digital Pencil Too
Tools ; ScorPal, Nestabilities Labels, Martha Stewart Border Punch
Colouring ; Promarkers
Embellishments ; Adhesive pearls and a pair of my Jeans (ha ha)

Jack 16 Weeks old

I love Monday's, I get to look after my gorgeous Grandson Jack.
I get to play and then after playing I get to bath and feed him and rock him and cuddle him until he's asleep.
Tonight he gurgled and told me a right old story lol!
He has also found his hands, so funny to see him move his hand up to his face then study it intensely and sometimes talk to it too lol!

Nestabilities Flower - Chrysanthemum

I used a cream base card with a Ripe Advacado ribbon, card and stamped flourishes in the same colour ink, all including the stamps available from Papertrey Ink.
I used the scalloped Circles Nestabilities to create the flower, I'm calling it a Chrysanthemum because that is the blossom I was aiming for.
The Label shapes are also Nestabilies.

Attention to detail...

A closer look at the Chrysanthemum, I also used a leaf punch on green paper then distress it with chalk inks to make them look a little more lifelike.

If you would like to know how to make this leave a comment, if I have enough interest I'll do a tutorial.
